Tomorrow is the start of Week 6!  I read that the chance of miscarriage drops to 2% after six weeks, so I am feeling less apprehensive.  Also, today my test results came in - all the tests were normal, I'm not a carrier of CF, I don't have any diseases, and I do have immunity to chicken pox and rubella.  Basically, all good news!  I wasn't really too worried about any of those things, but it's good to check the boxes - more ticks in the positive column!
Two weeks from tomorrow, we have our first ultrasound.  I can't wait for that to get here - I am really impatient and excited about it.  And Jeff is going to come with me :)

Jeff has sent out some letters for post-doc positions, and he heard back from the guy in Seattle.  This lab is at the top of his list, and Seattle is probably my top choice location.  The guy isn't sure if he has the funding, but is very interested and would definitely be able to take Jeff later (fall or winter).  If we waited, we would have to wait til after the baby, but it's something to think about.  Hopefully he will know by June if he has room for Jeff in the summer - it depends on getting grants, if his student graduates on time, if he picks up a new student, etc.  We are considering the option of waiting a bit (lab is a lot more bearable now that I've got something else to keep me happy!), but we're still looking for jobs to start in June.

Today I almost bought some maternity clothes.  I know it's ridiculous, since it's so early in the pregnancy, but I am huge.  I had no idea that I could bloat this much - I look at least 6 months pregnant when I'm not sucking in my gut!  I'll try to hold off for a while, I'm still trying to pay off some credit card debt that I racked up (still recovering from Christmas!).  It should be easier now that I'm eating healthier - part of the problem was eating lunch out with my labmates, which really adds up!  I'm also trying not to buy any new clothes/shoes for myself.  So I'll be good, and wait until it's absolutely necessary and there's no covering this belly!
