After a long week at work, we finally had a relaxing weekend - no visitors, no baby class, no commitments. Yesterday we slept in and got all of our grocery shopping done (am I the only weird person that enjoys this?), then snuggled on the couch. Today was more sleeping in, and then we headed downtown to act like tourists and visit Pike Place Market again. We drove to Jeff's work and then took the bus; I'm starting to get the hang of public transit in Seattle, and overall I think it's way better than Baltimore once you know what's going on, but it's still a bit stressful.
We did all the same things at the Market that we did a year ago when we were here: ate at Turkish Delight (but this time we got baklava too!), went to the Starbucks around the corner from the (super crowded) original Starbucks, and got gelato. We did explore a different section of the Market but man is that place crowded on the weekend - we were there on a weekday before (Thursday?) and it was busy but holy cow! Plus it's a bit harder for me to squeeze in and out of crowds now :)
It was a gorgeous day, so a good time to be out and about. In fact, it's only rained one day since we got here and that was just in the morning - the rest of the day was beautiful. I know the drizzle will be here soon, but I've been really in love with the weather here! It gets pretty cold at night though, we have our heat on (which is nuts). After the Market we went to Jeff's work and I snapped a shot of my 36-weeks-pregnant self:
I've been having some early/pre-labor symptoms yesterday and today, so it's possible we will have a baby very soon. Nothing definitive though, it's all stuff that can occur weeks before labor, so she may come on her due date or even later. I'm hoping she at least waits until Thursday, since I'll be 37 weeks (and therefore full-term) then, and I also have some 'required' training sessions (including choosing my benefits!) on Wednesday. I'm sure that I would be able to work something out, but it would be nice not to have to worry about it. We did install the car seat today, and we have our hospital bags packed and everything washed for the baby, so we are as ready as we'll ever be! I wouldn't mind her hanging out a few more weeks, though, since a paycheck is a good thing to have.
Work is going well, I'm going to leave you with this sign - it makes me laugh every time I walk by it :)
