Things have been craaaazy busy around here lately. Last Tuesday I started my new job and it's awesome, but exhausting. I am so excited to be a part of something so huge, just on the verge of starting, and it makes me get all warm and fuzzy inside that people trust me to manage a new facility and even tell me I'm doing a great job :) Although, maybe they're just being nice because I'm going to have a baby any day now. I also really enjoy commuting with Jeff in the morning, I feel like even though we're just sitting in the car, it gives us a chance to chat in the morning and evening - in the past, we barely saw each other in the morning (if at all) and the evenings consisted of us eating dinner, Jeff showering, and me falling asleep.
My mom, my sister and her boyfriend Brad came to visit this weekend, partly to celebrate my mom's birthday (a bit late) and also just for an excuse to see our new apartment, particularly the baby's room. We all went shopping at Babies 'R Us and loaded up on baby necessities (they are so generous, we're very grateful!). Now we are ready (at least stuff-wise) for the baby to come; I did laundry ('free & clear' detergent, donchaknow) and got everything put away and there are sheets on the crib (even though she won't be sleeping in it for a while) and packed her bag for the hospital. Whew!
Today I had my last two-week appointment with the midwives clinic - it's weekly visits from here on out! It was a bit freaky, I scheduled all of my appointments today to make sure I get the earliest time slot with each midwife that I haven't seen yet, and holy crap it's only four weeks until my due date. This baby is due ONE MONTH FROM TODAY. Today I registered for daycare (thankfully, we finally got a spot!) and tomorrow I interview a pediatrician - things are falling into place!
Since Jeff drives me to work (sort of), I took the bus today and I'll do it again tomorrow. The Seattle public transportation website is terrible, but the buses were actually really awesome - clean, nice people, nice drivers, on time...there's even an app to follow them and see when they are going to come. So, all in all, pretty awesome.
