Another week down

I honestly don't know where the time goes lately.   I got the reviews back from my paper Monday, so this week was a flurry of activity - making revisions, doing additional experiments, and just running around like a chicken with my head cut off in general.  I worked three 12-hour days in a row, and decided that I should just take Friday off.  Niiiiice.

On Friday evening my boss had a BBQ at his house, and wonder of all wonders, Jeff actually went with me.  He usually can't get away from work for these kinds of things, but he was home for a doctor's appointment and it just worked out.  The food was awesome and it was nice seeing people in a non-work setting, especially considering it was almost like a goodbye party for the three of us who are going our separate ways (me and two coworkers who just graduated).  Times marches on and all that.  Also, one of my co-worker/friends gave me a BEAUTIFUL baby quilt, I almost cried.  It's just so touching to me that someone would spend all that time and effort on making something for us and our baby.  So sweet!

She even has tags!

One more full week of work to go.  Today Jeff's brother Matt is coming to town, they are going on a nighttime fishing trip and he is staying over.  I am kind of jealous, I think it will be a lot of fun, but I really can't be away from a bathroom for that long (and unlike them, I can't just pee off the side of a boat).  Tomorrow we're supposed to have dinner with our friend Kat and her brother, who is visiting (didn't even know she had a brother! Whoops!)  This week I have to finish up my thesis, and hopefully print it out and give it to my committee.  Jeff's thesis defense is on Friday, and his parents are coming and we are going to dinner (somewhere?) with them Friday night.  Saturday there's a going away party for our friends Kira and Jake (who are moving to Philly) but I'm still not sure if we'll make it.  Monday is my committee meeting, where hopefully they will all agree to let me graduate in December, and then that's all folks.  I may come in an extra day to get all my affairs in order, but maybe not.

Wednesday the cubes are getting delivered and we're loading them up, Thursday Comcast is coming to disconnect our service, Thursday/Friday the cubes are getting picked up and shipped to Seattle, and Friday we are off!  We're staying in a hotel Thursday night, and we only plan on driving a few hours on Friday to get a head-start - we will leave late to miss rush hour traffic, and we're hoping an extra few hours gives us some wiggle room and makes the drive a little less stressful.  The plan is for it to take 5 days, 8 hours of driving per day, and anything we do on Friday is 'bonus' so when we (hopefully) get there on Wednesday, we can be relaxed and refreshed for when the cubes show up the next day.  Whew!  I feel like we're as prepared as we can be - a lot of packing is done, all we need to do is cancel our gas/electric here (can't do it until 30 days out from the end of our lease) and look into cable/internet there.  We already have a baby class that first weekend and I have a doctor's appointment a few days later!  I'm really excited to move on to this new chapter in our lives, so now I just have to make sure the baby stays in there until we're ready for her to come out :)

And for your enjoyment, a bump picture from 28 weeks exactly (sorry it's grainy AND in a bathroom!):
